In line with the launching of the Happy Schools Movement at the Division of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte National High School (INNHS) was awarded as the over-all champion for the Best Music Video titled ‘Our School is Cool’ last July 10.
With the contest coordinated by the Division of Laoag City, the winning piece of INNHS was a collaboration of the students and faculty and staff which promotes the concept of the Happy School Movement programs and activities. Among the scriptwriters were Mrs. Carmenette Pacog, Mrs. Luzviminda Sagario, Mr. Benjamin Hanson Juan, and Miss Karen Mae Tesora while Mr. Jerry V. Carreon was the overall director. MediaArts Tangguyob Productions helped as videographers and editors.
Meanwhile, Charl Rotsen Lucero, a Grade 8 student and coached by Mr. Nestor Lucero, bagged first place in the poster-making contest with the theme Happy Minds for Happy Schools held at the SDO Laoag City Bulwagan ng Liwanag last July 26.
“The Happy School Movement plays an integral part in developing a conducive place for learning. Hence, I see it as an effective way to help students enjoy being going to school and avoid considering it as something stressful”, INNHS Supreme Student Government President Marr Angelo Nicolas said.
Moreover, aside from the Music Video, there were also other activities like the simultaneous unfurling of Happy Schools Movement tarpaulin and the conduct of activities related to the four pillars of the Happy School Movement.
The said movement by the Department of Education aims to make school more fun by developing a holistic learning environment for learners and teachers with its theme, “Ragsak ken Rag-omi ti Napudno nga Agserbi”.
